    RE: 2019 Walk for Food

My name is Dottie Colletta and I am a volunteer and representative of Grace Community Food Pantry in Palm Coast, Florida. The food pantry operates under Grace Tabernacle Ministries, a 501(C) 3 non-profit organization, and has been a leader in fighting hunger in Flagler for over a decade.

Grace Community Food Pantry serves nearly 3,000 families per month with much needed food and necessities. We also have a number of other services that help to get food to those in need. We sponsor an event called Access Flagler on the first Friday of every other month.  At this event there are between 40 to 50 vendors and service agencies that help the county’s less fortunate with everything from haircuts, job placement, health screenings, housing, and other social service resources.  The Pantry also distributes food and clothing at this event. Another service very close to our hearts is the Fed by Grace Backpack Program that brings food to the area schools in a backpack every Friday for parents of homeless and needy children so that the children have food for the weekend. In 2018 we gave over 1,400 bags of food during the school year to students in need.  To learn more about what the Pantry is doing you can go to our website www.GraceCommunityFoodPantry.com

To help with the food purchases that keep our pantry stocked year round, we will be having our Fourth Annual Walk for Food on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Indian Trails Middle School. Last year we had a wonderful turn out and looking forward to this year.  We are asking our area retailers to help us with this wonderful event by becoming sponsors and/or donating cash and gift certificates so we can raise funds. One of our partners, Second Harvest, is a private, nonprofit organization that collects, stores and distributes donated food to more than 550 feeding partners including food pantries, soup kitchens, and women’s shelters, senior centers, day care centers and Kids Cafes. Cash donations allow us to purchase food from Second Harvest for 18 cents per pound, which goes a long way towards the purchase of food.

We would greatly appreciate any donations that you or your company would be willing to donate toward this event.  Below you will find our contact information. If you would like to discuss this event or sponsorship opportunities, please feel free to contact me at any time.

Thank you very much for your time
